HVEDC Welcomes Stewart D. Petrovits to Its Board of Directors

GOSHEN, N.Y. (January 7, 2019) – Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC) announces the appointment of Stewart D. Petrovits, President of Blacktop Maintenance Corp., to its Board of Directors.

Blacktop Maintenance Corp. (BTM) was established in 1973 by David Petrovits as a Jennite sealing company completing driveway and residential projects and expanded its services into paving and excavating over the years. In the ensuing decades, BTM solidified itself as a diversified industry leader, acquiring Route 82 Sand and Gravel and also establishing its Recycling Crushing Technology, Inc.

Today, BTM is a second-generation company owned and operated by Stewart D. Petrovits and Dana Wiehe, who continue the tradition of providing clients with a commitment to quality work, outstanding communication and customer service. In 2017, the company was recognized by Equipment World magazine as a Top 12 finalist for its Contractor of the Year award.

Stewart D. Petrovits, a lifelong resident of the Town of LaGrange, N.Y., serves as BTM’s President. He is also President of Recycling Crushing Technology, Inc., as well as Secretary and Treasurer of Route 82 Sand & Gravel, Inc. A graduate of the Trinity-Pawling School (`87), Petrovits went on to graduate from Gettysburg College (`91). Petrovits currently serves on the Board of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is also President of the LaGrange Rural Cemetery.

“The quality of work that Stewart and his companies have completed in the Hudson Valley over the decades is matched only by his commitment to his community and those neighboring communities in our region,” said Mike Oates, President and CEO of HVEDC. “We’re proud to add another such civic-minded member to our Board of Directors, and look forward to BTM’s contributions to our collective effort.”

“Dana and I are excited for this opportunity to work with this organization, which values the Hudson Valley – its communities and its people – as much as we do,” said Petrovits. “This region has allowed us to grow and succeed; we look forward to helping provide the same to others.”
