HVEDC is thrilled to announce that Elizabeth Rowley, President and CEO of The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan is joining its Board

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (March 9, 2020) Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC) announced the addition of The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan to its Board. The company will be represented by Elizabeth Rowley, President and CEO.

The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan is a non-profit, publicly supported, philanthropic institution with the long-term goal of building permanent, named funds for the broad-based charitable benefit of the individuals and families in the region. Funds are established through contributions from individuals, families, businesses or 501(c)3 organizations, each one with its own specific purpose. Ranging from educational scholarships to designated funds for organizations across the region, The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan provides charitable and community benefits which helps to enhance the quality of life in the local area.

Founded in 1999, the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan currently manages over 300 separate component funds and has distributed over $15 million in charitable grants and educational scholarships since the organization was established. These numbers continue to grow as more people step forward as generous participants in the vision of a stronger community.

Elizabeth Rowley, President and CEO, works with the board of directors, professional advisors and volunteers to plan, structure, implement and monitor an effective development program that will increase endowed and non-endowed assets, develop and maintain good relationships with nonprofit organizations, and steward current and prospective donors. Elizabeth is an Orange County native with a strong background in development and marketing. Prior to joining the staff at the Community Foundation, she worked at Inspire, Orange County Cerebral Palsy Association and the Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club.

She is a 2004 graduate of Emerson College with a degree in Marketing Communications. Elizabeth is a 2008 graduate of Leadership Orange and obtained her Certified Fundraising Executive certification in 2014. She currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of Safe Harbors of the Hudson, is a board member of the Mid-Hudson Valley Association of Fundraising Professionals and serves as a trustee of the Orange Regional Medical Center Foundation.
