Clinton Vineyards, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Three Meadows Spirits and Peony Vodka Join Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance

GOSHEN, N.Y. (August 30, 2017) — Representing a diverse cross-section of the Hudson Valley’s craft beverage producers, four companies have recently joined the Hudson Valley Food and Beverage Alliance: Clinton Vineyards, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Three Meadows Spirits and Peony Vodka. The Alliance is widely known for its collection of varied businesses in the food and beverage production spectrum.

Founded in 1976 by Ben Feder, a Bronx-born book designer and artist who fell in love with New York State’s Mid-Hudson Valley, the 100-acre Clinton Vineyards is modeled in the tradition of European vineyard estates. Clinton Vineyards, known for its line of Estate Bottled Wines and, more recently, its line of dessert wines, is a pioneer in local agri-tourism and welcomes wine lovers to its Dutchess County property seasonally. Founded in 2006, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company is an award-winning craft brewery located in Elmsford. Many of Captain Lawrence Brewing Company’s beers are strongly influenced by Belgian ale styles with an American twist. The company seeks to be environmentally sensitive, and donates is spent grain to a local farmer for use as cattle feed. To learn more, visit www.captainlawrencebrewing.com

Three Meadows Spirits, the company that produces Peony Vodka, is owned by Leslie Farhangi and located in Millerton. In fact, the Millerton location is what inspired the name for Peony Vodka, as there are rows of antique peonies that bloom each year in June on the Farhangi’s farm. The company launched Peony Vodka in the spring of 2016, and it has already received a 92 rating by well-known wine and spirits expert Anthony Dias Blue. The vodka was also selected as an Editor’s Pick for Oprah Magazine’s The ‘O’ List. Peony Vodka is available in more than 40 fine restaurants and liquor stores throughout the Hudson Valley. “These companies represent the burgeoning craft beverage industry throughout the Hudson Valley and New York State,” said Laurence P. Gottlieb, president and CEO of HVEDC. “We are thrilled to have Clinton Vineyards, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Three Meadow Spirits and Peony Vodka as new members of the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance. They will be tremendous assets to the network, and we look forward to watching them grow.”
