Robert H. Wilder, Jr. To Add Real Estate Development Experience To HVEDC Board

New Windsor – A leading real estate development executive is the newest member on the board of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp.

Robert H. Wilder, Jr., a principal and member of Wilder Balter Partners LLC (WBP) of Elmsford, has 30 years of experience in the real estate development business. He is also a principal of Griffon Associates, Inc., a construction management firm and a principal of WB Residential Communities, Inc., a property management firm. Wilder, though WBP and other entities he owns and controls, has developed commercial and residential projects in 25 towns, cities, and villages throughout the Hudson Valley and currently owns and manages more than 20 of these communities.

HVEDC is the leading economic development agency for the seven-county region that includes Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties.

“Bob’s diverse developer background and his unique understanding on how to get things done will be a huge asset to our Board,” said Mike Oates, CEO and President of the group. “Bob’s business skills and keen knowledge of the market will help us position the Hudson Valley as the prime location for companies to locate. We are thrilled to have him join the team.”

Wilder said he’s looking forward to serving on the board and helping guide economic development efforts in the region. “It’s quite an honor to be allowed to serve on the HVEDC board. There are a lot of doers on that board. I think the Hudson Valley has opportunities.”
Wilder said that New York state faces a number of issues, but that steps must continue to be taken to improve the state’s business climate.
