Orange County Distillery Joins Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance

NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (Jan. 28, 2016) – Goshen-based Orange County Distillery has joined the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance, a cluster initiative of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC).

Located on a fifth-generation farm in the Black Dirt region of Orange County, the distillery is a true farm-to-bottle craft distillery, focusing on quality, not quantity. The distillery grows everything on its farm to produce quality spirits in small batches using a hands-on process.

“We’re not a huge operation,” said co-founder, John Glebocki. “However, this allows us to do our craft at our own pace and on our own terms. We are true small business owners looking to showcase our unique, locally sourced product line. To be able to have access to forward-thinking business leaders through the Alliance is something we know will be extremely beneficial to our future success.”

Glebocki and co-founder Bryan Ensall use sugar beets from their farm and turn them into vodka; additionally, they use bushels of corn and turn them into whiskey in just a week. Orange County Distillery’s product line includes bourbon whiskey, corn whiskey, unaged single malt whiskey, vodka and gin.

“Orange County Distillery is the result of what happens when two small businesses take an idea and turn into something real,” said Larry Gottlieb, HVEDC president and CEO. “A working vegetable farm has turned into a distillery farm. John Glebocki and Bryan Ensall represent what unique entrepreneurism is all about. We know their business talent will benefit the Alliance.”

The Food & Beverage Alliance focuses on helping area food and beverage entrepreneurs work better together by providing networking opportunities, hosting educational forums, providing a regional advertising platform for marketing their products and promoting the region as a major craft beverage and specialty food producer to target audiences. The organization includes food businesses, farmers, vegetable growers, beverage makers, distributors and other industry-leading organizations and entities.
