Grand Cru Beer & Cheese Market Joins Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance

NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. – (Oct. 28, 2015) — Grand Cru Beer & Cheese Market, a Rhinebeck- based bar and retail shop featuring New York State craft beers, has joined the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance, a cluster initiative of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC).

The Food & Beverage Alliance focuses on helping area food and beverage companies work together as strong partners and market their products nationwide. The organization includes food businesses, farmers, vegetable growers, beverage makers, distributors and other industry organizations.

“Grand Cru is known as a relaxing and uncomplicated local spot dedicated to American craft beer,” said Rod Johnson, who co-owns Grand Cu with wife Alicia Lenhart. “As both a bar and retail bottle shop with roughly 300 different craft beers in stock, we feature the highest quality products — including great wines and cheeses — with incredible views of beautiful Rhinebeck. That’s a winning combination.”

Grand Cu also offers “local bites” such as fresh baked soft pretzels, popcorn, chocolate, pickles, venison jerky and other snacks. It hosts breweries for Grand Cru “Tasting Team” events each month featuring complimentary sampling as well as acoustic music nights and art events.

“Grand Cu Beer & Cheese Market is example of an entrepreneurial business reaching out to cultivate and maintain relationships with other businesses in the Hudson Valley,” said Lawrence P. Gottlieb, HVEDC president and CEO. “We welcome their innovative thinking and know they will be an asset to the Alliance.”

Lenhart felt being a part of the Food and Beverage Alliance would be advantageous to their 5-year-old business as they look to continue to grow and expand.

“We are especially honored to be part of the Food and Beverage Alliance because it fits into our mission of promoting New York State craft breweries and especially breweries in the Hudson Valley,” she added. “We work closely with our local breweries, not only selling their products, but being their community partner and offering our support by networking, social media support and attending and sponsoring events as much as we can.”
