With Pfizer, Regeneron, Acorda, ContraFect, Novartis, Avon and 80-plus other pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and digital health companies located in the region, the Hudson Valley offers abundant collaborative research opportunities and a strong supplier network.
In this initiative’s five short years, NY BioHud Valley has transformed the Hudson Valley into a renowned and thriving biotech epicenter for New York State. This was accomplished through initiative efforts that aggressively and successfully marketed the region as an industry hub. The cluster’s efforts have created opportunities for the Hudson Valley’s leading biotech companies, renowned research institutes and highly educated workforce.
The goal of the NY BioHud Valley initiative is to aggressively market and brand this fast-growing cluster and solidify the Hudson Valley as the epicenter of biotech and innovation. NY BioHud Valley fosters a pro-business environment designed to reduce legislative burdens, foster collaboration among our life sciences companies and educational institutions, and assist companies with access to venture capital. Through the efforts of NY BioHud Valley, many of the region’s biotech companies have gained exposure and become widely recognized industry influencers that are bolstering the regional and state economy. NY BioHud Valley drives these achievements by educating elected officials, the media and the public about the unique biotech resources and offerings located within the Hudson Valley.
In addition, NY BioHud Valley’s efforts led to the creation of the region’s first biotechnology/medical device incubator located on the campus of New York Medical College, BioInc@NYMC.
