ITT to Double HQ Size; Consolidate NJ Operations in White Plains
(December 17, 2007) – After considering sites in Connecticut, New Jersey and Colorado, ITT Corporation is moving into new quarters at 1133 Westchester Avenue in White Plains, New York, that will double the size of its current headquarters in Harrison and allow it to consolidate operations currently in New Jersey.
The Fortune 500 manufacturer and defense contractor, which has been based in Westchester since 1996, is expected to occupy 90,000 square feet in the newly renovated building by the summer under a 15-year lease. The company will also expand its existing Westchester workforce of 119 employees by 96 jobs by consolidating two divisions – Motion and Flow Control and Fluid Technology – currently headquartered in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey – with its local operations.
Gov. Eliot Spitzer announced recently that ITT is eligible for up to $1 million in state incentives under the state's Job NOW program that rewards companies for job creation. The company also expects to receive sales tax abatements from Westchester County valued at $500,000 for eligible construction expenses on the $14.8 million the company plans to invest in the project. Consolidated Edison also offered energy cost abatements for up to 10 years.
